Serge’ Chaloff McCoy

Named after Serge Chaloff, baritone saxophonist of the late 1950’s, Serge started playing drums at the age of three. Based in DC from 1986-1988, Serge played with a band called AWOL. Upon moving to California, a Martian Luther King Jr. television special used his talents and he joined a band called Club Millionaire owned by Broadcast Entertainment
where he helped new and upcoming artists showcase for the L.A. record company, Mo Jazz. The band became Caloosa and hit the San Diego Casino circuit for several years. Also a singer, Serge filled the role of Charlie Hustle, the turtle, on an album recorded for the San Diego Zoo. As house drummer for the Church of Carmel Mountain in San Diego, great musicians make appearances with him like Jerry Moffet, Leonard Tucker (Mossey Nissan commercials), and Rod Whitlock. After working with Justin James, Serge joined the CHI club band, and now, has added his talents as drummer to The Hot Mess.
